Service Technician - for Immediate Hire

JTI Trailers is Cleveland’s premiere trailer dealership, founded in 1935. We service, repair, perform maintenance and inspections on non-CDL trailers. We also install and service trailer hitches and snow and ice equipment.

Compensation
Flat rate pricing after 90 days. During first three months (training period) hourly compensation $16-19 to start, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- A great attitude, strong desire to learn new skills and grow
- Punctual: Desire to show up on time every day and start making some money
- Reliable: We can count on you every day to fulfill your responsibilities
- 6+ months of technical experience or training
- Mechanically inclined and skilled in use of basic tools
- Efficient: We get the jobs done faster so we can fit more jobs in
- Good problem-solving skills
- Able to stand for 8 hours a day, consistently walking and able to lift 100 lbs
- Valid Ohio driver’s license
Additional Qualifications
These are not required, but having any of these extra qualifications will give you an advantage in hiring.
- 1-2 years technical training or experience in automotive service or trailer service
- Completed or will soon complete course of study in automotive service or other related technical work
- Other safety training or relevant training/experience
- Can bring their own tools, basic is OK
- Trained in welding – HUGE plus!
Compensation

- One (1) week paid vacation during the first two (2) years of service; Two (2) weeks paid vacation for the third through eighth year of service; Three (3) weeks for more than eight years of service.
- Six (6) paid holidays each year; (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day).
- Sam’s Club membership.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain customers’ non-CDL trailers, snow and ice equipment
- Install hitches, snowplows, de-ice equipment, other truck/trailer accessories and parts
- Learn new skills as required for service work
- Minimize complaints and rework through quality control.
- Repairs, maintains and services customer equipment per the direction of the Service Writer.
- Maintains in good condition all service tools and service vehicles.
- Maintains a clean work area and all other areas of the shop.
- Responsible for the safety of service technicians and maintaining a safe working environment in the shop area and reporting all accidents to Human Resources immediately.
- Maintains service library.

- Installing hitches
- Cleaning and repacking races and bearings
- Installing and servicing snowplows including wiring
